Is pest treatment safe for children and pets?

The short answer: yes, if you follow the instructions. Professional products are tested and approved, but safety depends on how they are used and what you do before and after the treatment.

Why it is safe

  • We use only products approved in Latvia, exactly as the label says.
  • We put gel baits for insects into cracks, not on open surfaces.
  • Before the treatment we'll tell you which product we'll use and what to do.

Children

  • During the treatment children must be out of the rooms. After 12 hours of airing, even babies can come back.
  • Before the children come back, air the rooms and wipe the surfaces they touch.
  • Put toys away in a closed box before the treatment.
  • If there is a baby or a pregnant woman at home, tell us in advance.

Dogs and cats

  • During the treatment take your pets somewhere else. After 12 hours of airing they can come back.
  • Put away bowls and pet beds before the treatment.
  • For fleas, treat your pet with a product recommended by your vet.

Fish, birds and small rodents

Fish, birds, hamsters and other small animals are especially sensitive.

  • Cover the aquarium and switch off its air filter.
  • Take birds and small rodents to another flat during the treatment.

If someone feels unwell

Act at once

If after the treatment someone is short of breath, dizzy or very nauseous, take them into fresh air and call 113. Tell them which product was used; we write it on the DDD card.
