How to prepare for a pest treatment

Before the treatment

These steps suit most treatments.

• Clean the rooms: wipe surfaces and throw out rubbish and leftover food.
• Put food, dishes and children's toys into closed containers or cupboards.
• Clear access to the skirting boards, the cupboard under the sink and the spaces behind furniture.
• Cover the aquarium and switch off its pump.
• Take pets, birds and rodents somewhere else for a while.
• Tell us if there is a pregnant woman, a small child or someone with asthma or allergies at home.

Bed bugs: guarantee rules

• Empty the wardrobes so no clothes are left inside.
• Move furniture away from the walls.
• Clear the space under beds and sofas and take the bedding off them.
• Put children's things away or wash them after the treatment.
• Switch off the aquarium air filter and cover the tank.
• Clear the way to the skirting boards.
• After the second treatment, wash all clothes at 60 °C.

Cockroaches: guarantee rules

• Clear the shelves, or wash the things on them after the treatment.
• Make sure we can get behind the fridge.
• Clear the way to the skirting boards.
• Take out the rubbish and clean up any dirt.

During the treatment

During the treatment people and pets must be out of the rooms.

After the treatment

• Air the rooms for 12 hours. Then everyone can come back, including babies, cats and dogs.
• Wipe the surfaces where you cook and eat.
• Don't wash the spots where baits were placed or skirting boards were treated until we say so.
• Only vacuum the floors when we say so.
• We book the second treatment straight away, 10 to 14 days later.
